Even though her rented Malibu home burned down on Saturday, Lake and her loved ones were unharmed in the blaze. "Ricki is very grateful that her family was unharmed," a rep for the TV personality tells PEOPLE. "The fire happened very quickly and it was indeed a frightening experience. Right now she feels gratitude and blessings."
According to reports, Lake, 41, was trying to refuel a portable heater when a couch caught fire around 7 a.m. Lake is now using the unfortunate circumstance as a learning experience for others. "She urges everyone to get smoke detectors and fire extinguishers," her rep says.
