What's next for Heather Locklear after Amanda Woodward and Melrose Place left the air in the spring?

Locklear returns to Lifetime to shoot the original movie He Loves Me, a psychological thriller, PEOPLE has learned.

In the film, Locklear plays a Seattle real estate agent mom who begins to suspect that her husband is cheating even though she herself has a dark past and an affair of her own.

Casting Locklear came easy for Tanya Lopez, the senior vice president for original movies at Lifetime. "Heather is beautiful, sexy, and America loves her," Lopez says. "She will get to play a fun role as a complex, obsessed woman who will do anything for the man she wants."

He Loves Me is slated to air in 2011.

Locklear has been lying low since her April arrest for allegedly hitting a no-parking sign and leaving the scene. In May prosecutors cleared her of all charges, saying there was insufficient evidence as to who was driving Locklear’s BMW sedan at the time of the incident. Locklear is currently serving a three-year probation term in a separate case after she pleaded no contest to reckless driving following a DUI arrest in 2008. The DUI charge in that case was ultimately dropped.

No stranger to Lifetime, Locklear starred in the 2008 movie Flirting with Forty, about a divorcee mom who finds love with a younger man while on vacation, and the 2007 Nora Roberts adaptation Angels Fall.
