The Bruno-Bolton feud continues.

After Dancing with the Stars's Bruno Tonioli called Michael Bolton's jive the worst he's ever seen, the eliminated contestant said the outspoken judge should admit he was too harsh.

But Bolton shouldn't hold out for that apology.

"Bruno's role as a judge is to give his honest opinions on the quality of the dances he's judging, which is what he did in this case," the show's producers said in a statement Wednesday.

"While we respect the feelings of our celebrities and dancers," say producers, "we don't feel Bruno should be expected to apologize for doing his job."

Some PEOPLE.com readers seem to agree. In a poll, 40 percent said Tonioli was simply sharing his professional opinion, while 60 percent said his comments were out of line.
