The countdown is on for Sandra Bullock's first movie role since her Oscar-winning turn in The Blind Side – and it may involve her being launched into space as an astronaut.
Bullock, 46, is in talks with Warner Bros. to star with Robert Downey Jr. in Gravity, a movie set in outer space in which her character struggles to survive an avalanche of space junk, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
Bullock hasn't appeared in a film since The Blind Side, though she has been courted for projects. She is still reportedly in talks to star with Tom Hanks in Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, based on the Jonathan Safran Foer novel.
The female lead in Gravity has been reportedly offered to several actresses, with everyone from Angelina Jolie to Natalie Portman up for the role at one point.
