"He's an athlete," says Vanessa Williams, who was married to the former NBA star from 1999 to 2004. "He's a competitor, for sure."
But that doesn't mean she's rooting for him to win. Williams, who describes herself as a "huge fan" of DWTS, says frontrunner Jennifer Grey has the best chance of taking home the crown.
"His biggest competition is Jennifer Grey, because not only is she a beautiful dancer to watch, but she has such a dance history," Williams says. "She was America's sweetheart in Dirty Dancing. You can tell she's really dancing from her heart. She's enjoying it."
And although she declares, "Jennifer is the person to beat," Williams isn't counting out Fox entirely.
"I've never seen him ballroom before," she says. "I knew he was a good dancer in terms of freestyle, but the only time we danced ballroom together was our wedding, which was in 1999. So it's been a while! But I knew he'd probably be great."
