Gwyneth Paltrow will take the next step in her unlikely metamorphosis into a country singer with a live performance at next month's CMA Awards in Nashville.

The Shakespeare in Love Oscar winner, 38, will be making her live country-singing debut, performing "Country Strong," the single from her upcoming movie of the same name, with country stalwart Vince Gill.

Paltrow spent months getting down and dirty in the Nashville scene to play an alcoholic country star in Country Strong. She also worked tirelessly on guitar lessons and vocal lessons – with some help from her husband, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin.

The results were evident in the impressive "Country Strong" music video, which premiered last week. And the movie's director, Shana Feste, told PEOPLE this week that Paltrow has "the chops" to be a truly believable country singer.

Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood are co-hosting and will also perform at the 44th Annual CMA Awards, airing Nov. 10 on ABC. The star-studded performer lineup also includes Taylor Swift, Keith Urban, Rascal Flatts, Miranda Lambert and many more.
