David Cassidy, the teen heartthrob and pop singer of the 1970s, was arrested in Florida on a DUI charge.

According to the arrest report, a Florida Highway Patrol trooper spotted Cassidy’s white Mercedes driving erratically on the turnpike at 6 p.m. Wednesday. The report states that he crossed the center divider line, then cut off another driver while attempting to merge onto an exit ramp.

Police say they smelled alcohol on Cassidy’s breath, and he allegedly told them that he had a glass of wine at lunch and a hydrocodone tablet later in the afternoon.

The arrest report also says that Cassidy, a Ft. Lauderdale resident, was unsteady on his feet and failed several field sobriety tests. Officers said he later blew a .14 on a breath test, well above the legal limit in the state of Florida. Police say there was a half-full bottle of bourbon on the back seat of the vehicle.

The former Partridge Family star, 60, was charged with driving under the influence, failure to maintain a single lane and having an open container. He spent nine hours in the St. Lucie County jail before being released after posting $350 bail.
