After becoming engaged last week, the couple took a quick trip to Mexico. And the party continued Monday, as they enjoyed a night out in Lachey's hometown of Cincinnati on the eve of both of their birthdays. (Lachey turns 37 on Tuesday, while Minnillo is 30.)
After attending the Cincinnati Bengals football game, the couple arrived around 12:30 a.m. through the back door of the Mainstay Rock Bar, where they partied with friends on the second floor, which they had rented out with a private deejay and bar.
Minnillo gushed over her engagement ring, jumping up and down and clapping her hands as she showed it off to everyone, even the bartender. The party was in great spirits, despite the Bengals loss, as people danced and Minnillo sipped white wine with friends as Lachey drank bottles of Miller Lite.
"She's a total sports fan and she likes the Bengals and that's great for Nick," a source says of Minnillo. "That's the way to Nick's heart."
Lachey popped the question to Minnillo last Thursday in California with an Asscher-cut diamond flanked with trapezoids from Bader & Garrin.
