Jessica Simpson and boyfriend Eric Johnson shared a romantic brunch together at P.O.V., the rooftop bar at the W Hotel in Washington, D.C. The two started their meal sitting across from each other – until "he came over and sat next to her later on," an onlooker says. "They were very cute." Simpson, meanwhile, sipped on a bellini as they enjoyed a view of the White House with their meal.

• She's single again – and Miley Cyrus is more than ready to mingle. In Spain for the MTV Europe Music Awards, the singer was spotted chatting up Kings of Leon bassist Jared Followill. "They hung out together," a source tells us of the two. "They know each other from Nashville."

Natalie Portman celebrated a friend's birthday at the Bazaar in Hollywood along with seven pals. After dinner, the group enjoyed desserts at Patisserie, finishing off their evening at a corner table in the bar. "It was a fun, girls-only dinner," an onlooker says.

Robert Downey Jr. headed to Paris for a romantic weekend with his wife, Susan. On the couple's itinerary: an early morning stop by the Grand Palais, where they scoped out the Monet retrospective, before dashing back to London via the Eurostar train.

James Van Der Beek, looking like a "hot English professor," according to an onlooker who spotted him in a brown corduroy coat and thick-framed glasses as he shopped for groceries at a Trader Joe's in Hollywood. The new dad was disappointed when he couldn't find his favorite pizza, even going back to double check the section while a pal stood in the check out line.
