Butch Patrick, 57, is in a private facility in New Jersey, say reports. His agent, Jodi Ritzen, said Patrick took the step "to deal with a lifetime problem of substance abuse."
Reports also say that Patrick had moved to Philadelphia when a female fan had contacted him, but last week the woman announced that they had broken up.
