TALK

Why does The Talk exist? Let's allow cohost Leah "the Loud One" Remini to explain: "Our intention...in doing this show was to bring something somewhere to someone." Mostly, the cohosts on this mom-centric talk show-including Roseanne's Sara "the Vegan One" Gilbert and Julie "the Newsy One" Chen-come across as desperately eager to appear "real." Guest Jennifer Lopez had just begun chatting about her twins when Holly "the No-Nonsense One" Robinson Peete yanked up her own shirt to show off her stretch marks. She's so real! Sharon "the Batty One" Osbourne is so down-to-earth that she sits cross-legged-and barefoot! Of all of them, the warmly unpretentious Gilbert seems like the one you'd most like to have in your actual moms' group. The others, not so much.

Married to Rock

REALITY

If the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills boarded the Rock of Love bus, the result would be this new series. Featuring four women with the requisite mix of plastic parts and doll-size clothes, the show has plenty of sleazy gloss but lacks drama. The rocker husbands are of the aging C-list variety: former Guns N' Roses bassist Duff McKagan and Perry Farrell of Jane's Addiction. As for the wives, Etty Farrell garners the most screen time in the premiere after one of her husband's friends comes on to her. Yawn. This is one of those shows best consumed in small, skewered slices on The Soup.
