"Isn't that the whole point?" he asks PEOPLE at the launch of 7-Eleven's "Coffee Cup With A Cause." "I mean, aren't we all striving to be overpaid?"
Apparently, it's not just about making it anymore – it's about making it and then having someone say your overcompensated for doing so.
"Apparently I'm living the American dream without even trying," Ferrell, 43, says with a chuckle.
Fortunately for Ferrell, if this whole acting thing doesn't pan out, working on designing the cup that will benefit Cancer for College may have uncovered some previously untapped talents.
"It's a combination of early Basquiat and early Rankin-Bass claymation," he says of the rudimentary snowman sketch that graces each cup. "Yes, it looks like a child drew it, but that's the extent of my artistic expertise."
