Beresford-Redman, a former producer for Survivor and Pimp My Ride, was being transferred to federal custody to await a hearing on Wednesday.
Beresford-Redman's wife, Monica, a 41-year-old Los Angeles restaurant owner and mother of two, was found dead in April in the sewer at a Cancun resort where the couple had been vacationing.
Her husband became a person of interest in the case from early on. He returned to the United States against the wishes of Mexican authorities who had confiscated his passport.
U.S. Marshals arrested him "without incident" at his home in Rancho Palos Verdes, a spokesman for the U.S. Attorney's Office says. Mexican authorities had requested his arrest.
