Thursday's game was James's first time back in Ohio playing basketball since he signed a five-year contract with the Miami Heat. And as the Heat beat the Cavaliers – the team James, 25, led for seven years – in a 118-90 victory, fans were not discrete about their disapproval of James's defection to the Sunshine State.
Some fans clamored courtside with angry signs, reports USA Today, although his former teammates didn't match their aggression, talking and joking in between plays instead.
Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert, however, did not share his team's sentiment – especially after watching James pull 38 points for the Heat and score the ultimate last laugh.
"Words don't express my feelings," Gilbert Tweeted after the game, "so I won't even try."
