While some actors are focused on winning this awards season, the pressure to take home a statuette doesn't faze Mila Kunis.

"They're just awards. It's not the end of the world. People need to relax," the actress told PEOPLE with a laugh at the Critics' Choice Movie Awards in Hollywood on Friday.

Kunis, who was nominated for her supporting role in Black Swan, takes a similarly relaxed approach to dressing for the red carpet.

"I don't plan, which is maybe my problem in life," said Kunis in a short and strapless black Nina Ricci dress. "I play it by ear."

Part of why Kunis, 27, doesn't get too worked up about awards shows is that she'd simply rather be at home.

"I'm not good with big groups of people – I'm just not," she said. "I love what I do. But when you put me in environments such as this, I just want to go home and put my sweat pants on."

With another chuckle, Kunis adds, "Other than that, it's great."
