"I was so excited," Tyler told Access Hollywood of her father's debut. "I've never really watched American Idol – I had seen it once or twice. I just watched with my girlfriends at home the other night and I had goose bumps for an hour-and-a-half and laughed and loved it! I thought it was really special. I think they hit something amazing with the combination [of judges] that they've got."
Tyler joined Jennifer Lopez and Idol veteran Randy Jackson for the show's auditions in New Jersey and New Orleans on last week's episodes – and he made a good impression thanks to his quirky one-liners and laugh-inducing antics.
That her dad can make people laugh came as no surprise to Tyler. "Yeah, he's very funny," she said. "He's really good at the weird sayings that just come out of his mouth out of nowhere all the time."
