First the Grammys – now the Oscars.

Florence + the Machine, among the crop of best new artist nominees at this year's Grammy Awards, is set to perform at Elton John's annual AIDS Foundation Academy Awards gala on Feb. 27 in West Hollywood – after receiving a personal invitation from John himself.

"That Elton asked me, that's just unbelievable," Florence Welch, who fronts the band, tells USA Today in a new interview. "It's an amazing event, and the AIDS cause is such a fantastic thing to be a part of. I'm so happy to play some small part in raising awareness for his charity."

Welch will be joined by a starry array of guests at the event, including David and Victoria Beckham, who are acting as chairs of the event along with Taylor Swift, Hugh Jackman, Miley Cyrus and more.

The gala will take place at L.A.'s Pacific Design Center, and feature food by Chef Ludo Lefebvre. Last year, the event raised almost $4 million for AIDS research.
