Matthew Morrison's First Single Debuts

It has a bit of an island sound – which makes sense for a song called "Summer Rain."

Glee star Matthew Morrison, 32, debuted his new single Monday on Ryan Seacrest's KIIS-FM radio show.

When Seacrest noted the song wasn't as "poppy" as some of the Glee cast's offerings, Morrison agreed.



"I want to stay a little bit away from Glee," he said, adding that he believed to "be taken seriously, I had to write my own songs" – which he did.

As for the rest of the album, Morrison, a Broadway veteran, has described his sound as a cross between Michael Bublé and Justin Timberlake.
