got a ton of presents for her baby shower
Sunday night – but one heartfelt gift stood out from all the rest.
"The Always Be My Babies
'Lamb Book' is definitely my new prized possession and I can't thank the Lambs around the world enough for your letters & well wishes," Carey, who often calls her most dedicated fans "lambs," wrote on her Web site
The book cover is illustrated with a blue and a pink baby carriage, along with family photos of Carey and her husband, Nick Cannon, 31. It was created using short letters and poems her fans wrote to the babies.
"We so had a 'moment' in the middle of the shower when they presented the book to me and everyone thought it was the cutest, most thoughtful thing ever!" Carey recalled. "Clearly, only the Lambs would swing something like that home!!! It was the best moment of the night. I can't wait for the twins to read the messages and feel the love!!! : )"
The singer, 41, thanked fans around the world for their contribution to the shower, which was held at the Conservatory Grill at the Montage Hotel in Beverly Hills. The venue was transformed into a blue-and-pink wonderland for the event, honoring the fact Carey is expecting a boy and a girl.
"Thank you SO much to all who came to the baby shower last night and all who couldn't be there but sent such beautiful presents and sweet messages!" she wrote. "Still haven't really opened all the gifts but seeing so many people who came from all over the world to be there with us was the BEST gift we could ask for!"
The singer signs off with, "Again, thank you so much to our friends and family for making it an unforgettable experience. Love ya much always!! Xoxo. Mimi & Nick."
