Baruchel, who has appeared in Million Dollar Baby and Tropic Thunder, popped the question over the holidays, reports ET Canada. But the proposal wasn't exactly like the ones in the movies.
"I was going to give her a ring, and I wasn't sure," Baruchel, 28, says. "I wasn't ready in my heart to say what it was."
But this ring – a 180-year-old Victorian wedding band – wasn't just any ring.
"When I gave it to her, I just said, basically, 'S--- or get off the pot,' " he says. "I said, 'F--- it, will you marry me?' "
Pill, who's appeared in Milk and Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, 25, said yes.
The two plan to wed in September 2012.
