Picks and Pans Review: Double Talk
DOLLY PARTON & KENNY ROGERS
DID YOU TWO EVER HAVE A ROMANCE?
KENNY: I tried.
DOLLY: We're like kinfolk. It just don't seem right.
WHY HAS YOUR POPULARITY LASTED?
KENNY: A lot of people don't like us, but that's-
DOLLY: Who don't like us?! We are who we are. I'd rather tell you the truth-about plastic surgery or anything.
YOU'VE BOTH BEEN VERY OPEN ABOUT THAT.
DOLLY: On tour we used to joke that we'd get our own liposuction machine: the Jiffy-suck. We could eat a bowl of beans and have it sucked out by showtime!
KENNY: At my age now, I would never do that again because I have two young kids [twins Justin and Jordan, 6] and there's a danger with any surgery.
WHAT SONG IS QUINTESSENTIAL KENNY?
DOLLY: He will always be "The Gambler" to me.
KENNY: And to me, "I Will Always Love You" is Dolly. She has this gift for touching things that no one else has.
ANY THOUGHTS LOOKING BACK AT YOUR PHOTOS OVER THE YEARS?
KENNY: I've never seen Dolly when she wasn't fully made-up and in heels, looking great.
DOLLY: And you never will!
