"I wish there was a show like this when I was starting," Aguilera told reporters Tuesday on the set of The Voice. "I am ready to share it all."
As a coach, Aguilera will blindly select a roster of contestants who she will mentor as they face off against competitors chosen by fellow coaches, Blake Shelton, Cee Lo Green, and Maroon 5's Adam Levine.
"I love the fact that we get to sit here with our backs turned away from these people and just hear these voices," Augilera said. "I may hear a pop [voice], then turn around and find a person in a cowboy outfit."
While she will be bringing in her A-team of producers and songwriters who have provided the pop diva with multiple hits and platinum albums over the years, that does not mean she is looking for copycat vocal artists.
"I'm not looking for vocal acrobatics or who has the biggest range," she said. Instead she wants to be "moved."
As the only female among a panel of men she must "keep in line," Aguilera also hopes to provide her female protégés with access to her glam team.
"The boys have it so much easier," she said, styled perfectly in a red strapless dress, sitting next to her fellow coaches in casual daywear.
"Were getting completely involved," said Aguilera, who will finally join Twitter as a forum for feedback from fans of the show.
"This isn't about tearing people down," the singer added. "I want to bring these people up."
The Voice premieres April 26 (9 p.m. ET) on NBC.
