Deep down, are you an '80s arena-rock legend who was born a generation too late? Adam Shankman wants to hear from you.

The Hairspray director and So You Think You Can Dance judge, who is adapting the musical Rock of Ages for New Line Cinema, is holding an open casting call in L.A. this Saturday for the role of Drew Boley – the aspiring rocker first played on Broadway by American Idol's Constantine Maroulis.

Producers are looking for "a male actor between 18 and 25 with a real rock 'n' roll singing voice."

Drew is further described as "a talented singer/guitarist who's already working with a band when he is immediately smitten by the lovely Sherrie. They quickly fall in love to the greatest songs of the 1980s" – by bands like Journey, Foreigner, Bon Jovi, Night Ranger, REO Speedwagon, Twisted Sister, Poison and Whitesnake.

Can't make it to L.A. this weekend? Go to RockOfAgesMovieCasting.com for information on how to upload an audition video to be considered for the role.
