At long last – Jennifer Garner is ready to put those gravity-defying crime-fighting skills from Alias back to use, this time in Disney's update of Miss Marple.
The actress – next seen opposite Russell Brand in April 8's Arthur – will co-produce the potential franchise, according to Deadline.com.
The character is based on Agatha Christie's famed Miss Marple, a wee old English spinster whose hobbies are sipping tea and deftly cracking criminal cases. (She was most famously portrayed by Margaret Rutherford in the '60s and in the '80s by a pre-Murder She Wrote Angela Lansbury.)
Garner's Marple, however, comes with a key update: the character will better befit its fetching lead actress: She'll be a younger gumshoe with, presumably, better wardrobe and a lot more sex appeal.
