She's newly divorced
, but Eva Longoria
isn't letting that prevent her from planning a future – as a mom.
In the next chapter of her life, Longoria, 36, says she wishes to raise a family.
"[I want to] have kids and be a mom," the Desperate Housewives
star, who split from Tony Parker
last year, says on Rachael Ray Show
in an episode that airs Monday, April 11.
Longoria does not mention Eduardo Cruz
, to whom she has been linked since February
, but the actress confesses that she fears entering the dating scene.
"I'm not very approachable," she says. "I'm not good with [dating], I get really nervous! It's probably strange [that] I've never been a dater. I've been married or in a relationship, and so this is going to be, you know, scary."
Somewhat easier has been Longoria's ability to take care of her girlfriends instead of a husband.
"I'm really domestic, so I had a really strong identity in being a wife," she says. "Finding myself again outside of somebody else has been not even challenging – it's been fun. It's been like, here we go!"
Longoria, who has taken two of her gal pals under her wing by sharing her home with them, says, "I'm like the mother hen for a sorority house. It's all women, all the time. So, we're always cooking! I love it!"
