TJ Lavin Faces More Surgery

The wrist surgery, his second since the crash, is minor, but it will help him regain the feeling lost in three fingers.
"I'm at about 40 percent on being able to move my wrist around," the host of MTV's The Challenge told PEOPLE Monday. "I've been wearing a brace lately to get the movement back and I have to get some carpel tunnel surgery. After that, everything will be sweet."
All along a chance existed that Lavin, 34, would have to undergo more surgery on his wrist, so the news didn't necessarily come as a surprise, nor is it seen as a setback. The surgery hasn't been scheduled yet, but Lavin expects it soon.
"Recovery is going great. My brain is still a little slow on certain things," Lavin said. "I did two pull-ups the other day, which is a big deal. I used to do three sets of 15, but I'm getting there."
On Monday, while hosting a charity golf tournament for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Southern Nevada, he conquered another milestone – he hit a golf ball, his first since the accident.
"My accident has definitely changed my outlook on charity work, because it's time to give back," he said. "When I was at my lowest point, I saw what people did for me. That's what I want to do for other people. The more I can give back the better. Everything has changed, for sure. I should have been doing this stuff a long time ago, but now it's more important to me than anything."
