On Monday's Dancing with the Stars the celebrities and their pro partners paid tribute to American with patriotic performances – and they weren't faking it!
After the show, the couples spoke to PEOPLE about why they love the U.S.A.
"It's so uplifting. It's such an honor to be dancing to 'Yankee Doodle Boy,' " Kendra Wilkinson said of her confident routine. "I'm so proud. I'm such a proud American. There's no way I could have been down tonight. I'm so happy and it was real."
"The greatest thing about America is that you really have the opportunity to decide exactly what you want to do and you can go for that and you can get it," Kirstie Alley said. "Other places you can't do that."
And Petra Nemcova, who was born in the Czech Republic, had this to say about America's citizens: "People in America are the most generous, the most philanthropical in the world. That makes an impact all over the world and that's something to be proud of."
Another one of Dancing's international stars, Australian Kym Johnson, told PEOPLE, "I think [my partner Hines Ward] really epitomizes what America is and that's you can be whoever you want and you have the opportunity to do that. You've become a football player ... "
"And now," Hines said, "I'm a dancer!"
