The second-most closely guarded secret of the royal wedding is out: At least some of Kate Middleton's bridal party will be walking down the aisle at Westminster Abbey wearing dresses by British designer Nicki Macfarlane.
Examples of the designer's work can be seen on her website: items in her recently launched ready-to-wear collection for young attendants are typically made of luxurious silk or taffeta, have a full skirt and sash and cost more than $300. However, Middleton's bridal party is more likely to take advantage of Macfarlane's bespoke services, in which the outfits for the bridal party are completely made to order (prices for adult bridesmaids start at more than $600).
Though Kate's lady-in-waiting, sister Pippa, 26, might have a modified version of the cute couture confections now seen on Macfarlane's site (or from a completely different designer), the princess-to-be's three other bridesmaids – Lady Louise Windsor, 7, the Hon. Margarita Armstrong-Jones, 8, and 3-year-olds Grace van Cutsem and Eliza Lopes – are sure to look smashing in their adorable (and elegant) frocks.
