Richie Sambora got a vote of confidence from his bandmates in Bon Jovi as he takes a temporary break from the tour, reportedly to enter a treatment center.
"Our support for Richie is absolute," Bon Jovi says in a statement Thursday. "He is, and will remain, a member of Bon Jovi. Although he will be absent from upcoming shows for the time being, we very much look forward to his healthy return. In the meantime, we will keep our commitment to our fans and continue our tour."
The band, whose next stop is April 30 in New Orleans, did not cite a reason for Sambora's absence. But online reports say the guitarist, 52, is getting rehab for his sobriety and exhaustion. – Joey Bartolomeo
