John Krasinski Fell for Emily Blunt Right Away

It sounds like the plot of a romantic comedy: John Krasinski wasn't looking for love – but then he met Emily Blunt.

The Office actor, 31, says he knew right away when he met the actress, whom he married last July, that she was special.

"It was one of those things where I wasn't really looking for a relationship and I was thinking I'm going to take my time in L.A." Krasinski says on Wednesday's episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show. "Then I met her and I was so nervous. I was like, 'Oh god, I think I'm going to fall in love with her.' As I shook her hand I went, 'I like you.' "

Krasinski – who currently stars in the romantic comedy Something Borrowed with Kate Hudson and Ginnifer Goodwin – calls married life "awesome" and "amazing."

He jokes that he wanted to pop the question to Blunt before she realized she could find an even better catch.

"I was like, I'm going to propose to her real fast before she wakes and was like, 'What am I doing? I can have anybody,' " says Krasinski. "I was like, just put [on] this the ring. Shhh..."

On a serious note, Krasinski says their chemistry was immediately apparent. "It's one of those things where as soon as you meet someone you kind of know."

Asked if Blunt, 28, also knew Krasinski was The One, he says, "She says she does. So I'm going to take that as a yes."

Krasinski and Blunt began dating in 2008 and got engaged in August 2009.
