Amid the fallout of his split
from wife Maria Shriver and the news that he fathered a child out of wedlock
, Arnold Schwarzenegger has ceased all acting projects, including his anticipated return to the Terminator
"At the request of Arnold Schwarzenegger we asked Creative Artists Agency to inform all his motion picture projects currently underway or being negotiated to stop planning until further notice," Patrick Knapp, entertainment counsel to Schwarzenegger and a partner at Bloom, Hergott, Diemer, Rosenthal, LaViolette, Feldman Schenkman & Goodman said Thursday.
"Governor Schwarzenegger is focusing on personal matters and is not willing to commit to any production schedules or timelines," the statement from Knapp continues. "This includes Cry Macho
, The Terminator
franchise and other projects under consideration. We will resume discussions when Governor Schwarzenegger decides."
As for how Schwarzenegger is doing in the wake of the scandal, a source close to him tells PEOPLE, "He feels very bad about the situation. [He is] fully prepared to do whatever he needs to do to rebuild [his family's] trust."
