Fifteen months after his wife was found dead in a sewage tank in a Cancun resort, Bruce Beresford-Redman has been ordered to return to Mexico to face murder charges.

A federal judge on Tuesday found probable cause that Beresford-Redman, 41, a former producer of Survivor, was involved in his wife's death, and ordered him extradited to Mexico.

"Based on the totality of the circumstances," there is probable cause to find that he "committed the aggravated homicide of Monica Beresford-Redman," magistrate judge Jacqueline Chooljian said, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Beresford-Redman showed little emotion as the decision was announced, the paper reports.

His lawyers can appeal the ruling, which could delay the extradition for another year.

After initially requesting that Beresford-Redman's daughter testify in his defense at the hearing, the producer's lawyers decided against bringing her to court.

Monica Beresford-Redman, who owned a popular Brazilian restaurant in Los Angeles, had just discovered her husband's affair with a co-worker shortly before her death in April 2010.
