Eleven-year-old Celina Cass, who went missing from her New Hampshire home nearly a week ago, was found dead by investigators on Monday.

Her body was discovered by a dive team in the Connecticut River near a hydroelectric dam that spans between Stewartstown and Canaan, Vt., according to the Associated Press. Her death is considered suspicious and an autopsy is planned for Tuesday to determine the cause of death.

Cass was last seen at home in Stewartstown on the night of July 25. The following morning she had vanished with no signs of a struggle or indication she'd run away, according to police.

Described as studious and shy, family and friends said Cass was not the type to run away from home and were baffled by her disappearance from the remote town just a mile from the Canadian border.
