Between her stint on Glee and her performance at the 2011 Grammys – not to mention impressive appearances at the CMA Awards and on Saturday Night LiveGwyneth Paltrow seems to know how to handle her budding musical career.

But it's no thanks to her husband, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, she says. Why? Because she never asked him for help.

"[He's] a musical genius," she tells Elle magazine in its September issue. "It's like living with Picasso and being like, 'Should I make a little something-something?' "

Married since December 2003, Martin, 34, and Paltrow, 38, keep their relationship under the radar – which means a couples' duet seems out of the question. Martin "makes music for his fans, and he doesn't want people to conjure a lame famous couple when they're getting into his music," she explains of their push for privacy. "I get it."

Aside from her musical endeavors, the Oscar winner has also taken on the role of the GOOP guru. In 2008, she launched, a lifestyle Web site, to give fans tips and tricks ranging from must-dos to workout routines.

"When you go to Paris and your concierge sends you to some … restaurant because they get a kickback, it's like, 'No. Where should I really be?'" she says. " 'Where is the great bar with organic wine? Where do I get a bikini wax in Paris?' People know that I know that."

She also sees her online newsletter as a way to motivate those who can benefit from her health regimens.

"It's so much easier to sit home and criticize other people," she says. "What I love is inspiring people. People come up to me and say, 'I want to have two kids and wear a bathing suit and not feel terrible about myself. I see how hard you work, and it makes me feel like I can do that too.' "
