The American Idol alum and his wife Mandy welcomed a baby girl, Madeline Emilia Castro, on Sunday, he confirms to PEOPLE.
In April, Castro shared on his website that he and his wife were expecting a baby, saying, "We just found out yesterday that it is going to be a girl! That makes me laugh … what am I going to do with a sweet little girl?! Probably just smile a lot … I cannot wait!!!"
This is the first child for the couple, who married in Jan. 2010.
