It's been two years since Prince, 14, Paris, 13, and Blanket, 9, faced the world to bid farewell to their father, Michael Jackson, but the once-veiled kids seem to have adjusted to their new life.
"They are pretty happy kids now," a source tells PEOPLE.
On Monday, the siblings made a rare public appearance with their grandmother, Katherine Jackson, and aunt, Latoya Jackson, at a ceremony to donate some of their late father's artwork. And they were spotted at Six Flags Magic Mountain on Aug. 3 with their cousins, Jermajesty and Jaafar.
As their summer draws to a close, the Jackson kids will trade the roller coaster rides for the classroom. "Prince and Paris are going back to [private] this year. They love the social aspect of it," says the source.
Blanket, on the other hand, "is still very, very shy. He's still home-schooled."
Outgoing Paris, meanwhile, "really wants to be an actress," says the source. "She loved taking acting classes."
