Once known for his love of barbecue and impromptu stops at McDonald's, former President Bill Clinton has radically changed his diet, dropped weight and improved his health.
What a difference a quadruple bypass makes.
The former junk food lover, who turned 65 on Friday, now calls himself a vegan, shunning meat, eggs, dairy and almost all oil.
"I like the vegetables, the fruits, the beans, the stuff I eat now," Clinton tells CNN.
After experiencing periodic heart problems leading up to the 2004 surgery, Clinton has now lost 20 lbs. and says, "I feel good, and I also have … more energy."
Clinton will formally celebrate his birthday with an all-star concert called "Decade of Difference: A Concert Celebrating 10 Years of the William J. Clinton Foundation” at the Hollywood Bowl on Oct. 15.
