Well, he is known for having an icy demeanor!
Simon Cowell says he wants to be frozen when he dies in a process known as cryonics. The idea is that he'll thaw in the future when medical technology is available to bring him back to life and treat whatever it is that ends the life of The X Factor head honcho.
"It's an insurance policy," Cowell tells GQ in the magazine's September issue.
"If it doesn't work, it doesn't work. If it does work, I'll be happy. If it's possible, and I think it will be, why not have a second crack? Does that sound crazy? I think it's a good idea."
Cowell, who recently hired Mariah Carey for a role on The X Factor's first season (premiering Sept. 21 at 8 p.m. ET), could theoretically appear on The X Factor's 301st season.
"I have a feeling that if I don't do it now," he says of the procedure, "I could regret this in 300 years' time."
