The season finale of the controversial TLC reality show Toddlers & Tiaras – which offers a behind-the-scenes look at the world of child beauty pageants – is upon us, and it promises to deliver the usual high-stakes drama faced by the made-up children (and their pushy parents).
In an exclusive preview of Wednesday's show, Carley, 5, performs a Cruella Deville-inspired number in a pageant while her mom coaches her frantically from behind the judges' table. Then, at the end of her routine, Carley rips off her fake eyelashes.
And mom throws a penalty flag.
"What possessed you to rip them off on-stage?" Carley's mother snaps. "Don't think that that went unnoticed."
Well, actually, it did – at least to some. Judge Shawna Schuller says into the camera, "She did very well ... I honestly didn't notice that she ... ripped off her eyelashes."
The season finale of Toddlers & Tiaras airs Wednesday (10 p.m. ET) on TLC.
