Alex Rodriguez on Split with Cameron Diaz: 'We'll Always Be Friends'

It may be game over for Cameron Diaz and Yankee star Alex Rodriguez, but the couple, who recently broke up after dating for a year and a half, remain on good terms.

"I have a lot of love for Cameron," the slugger, 36, told PEOPLE about the actress, 39. "We'll always be friends."

According to a source, the decision to call it quits was mutual for Diaz and Rodriguez, who played games and posed with fans while promoting Vita Coco in Manhattan on Tuesday.

"They have considerable respect for each other," the source said.
