Lauren Bush Lauren: The Honeymoon Isn't Over
"I literally just got back in town," the newlywed told PEOPLE at Thursday's 27th Annual DreamBall in New York to benefit Look Good ... Feel Better, an organization that helps women who have cancer.
Bush Lauren, 27, a niece of former President George W. Bush, tied the knot with Ralph Lauren's son, David Lauren, in a lavish ceremony earlier this month on the fashion magnate's spectacular RRL Ranch in Colorado.
"Obviously, I think anyone's wedding means a lot to them," she says, "but it was beautiful. … We feel very blessed."
And the honeymoon? "It was a wonderful, wonderful time."
On Thursday, Bush Lauren wore a long, elegant evening gown designed by her father-in-law. A co-founder of FEED Projects, which fights world hunger, she was at the benefit on behalf of the bags she designed in partnership with Clarins and Bloomingdale's. Sale proceeds will go toward distributing school meals around the world, she said.
As for how is married life: "It's only been a few weeks, but so far, so good," she says. "I'm very happy."
And when it comes to her new name, "I'm still getting used to it," she says – adding that, when it comes to writing it out, it's " 'Lauren Bush Lauren.' No hyphen. That's the question of the day."
