Amanda Knox Compared to Jessica Rabbit in Court – by Defense Attorney
Knox, who is appealing her 2009 conviction of murdering her roommate, is "not bad, she's just drawn that way," according to attorney Giulia Bongiorno, lawyer for Knox's boyfriend – and co-defendant – Raffaele Sollecito, 27.
"She can be seen as a man-eater," Bongiorno said in her closing arguments. "But in fact she was a faithful woman in love."
Knox, 24, was sentenced to 26 years in prison and Sollecito was sentenced to 25 for the 2007 killing of British student Meredith Kercher in Perugia, Italy.
Due to problems with DNA evidence, however, the pair have appealed the conviction, as there were "no traces" of either defendant in the room where Kercher was murdered, Bongiorno argued Tuesday in court.
A verdict in Knox's appeal case is expected by next week.
