Christoph Waltz should be celebrating the New York Film Festival premiere of Carnage, but instead, he is dealing with injuries from Django Unchained.

The Academy Award-winning actor, 54, who costarred in Inglourious Basterds and Water for Elephants, was hurt on the set of Quentin Tarantino's latest movie, Waltz's rep confirms to PEOPLE.

"Christoph Waltz was injured while training with his horse in preparation for his role," the rep says in a statement. "Waltz is currently being treated for a dislocated pelvic bone and is looking forward to getting back in the saddle."

The film's production schedule has not changed, and Waltz is expected to fully recover.
