Former Weezer bass player Mikey Welsh, who died on Saturday of an apparent drug overdose, eerily predicted the time and place of his death in several Twitter posts two weeks ago.

He wrote on Sept. 26: "dreamt i died in chicago next weekend (heart attack in my sleep). need to write my will today." He then added a second note: "correction – the weekend after next."

Welsh, 40, failed to check out of his room at the Raffaello Hotel on Saturday morning and was later found by hotel staff, with prescription drugs and a bag suspected to contain heroin nearby, the Chicago Tribune reports.

After his death, the band posted a note on its Twitter page that read: "We are shocked and deeply saddened to hear the awful news, our friend and fellow weez rocker @mikeywelsh71 has passed away. We love u Mikey."

Welsh performed with Weezer from 1998 to 2001 and later became a painter.
