Patrick Swayze's Widow Strikes Dirty Dancing Pose with His Wax Statue
Niemi, 55, unveiled a new wax statue of her late husband, and joined him in balancing on a log over an imaginary lake – recreating the famous scene from Dirty Dancing when Swayze teaches Jennifer Grey's character the importance of balance in dance.
Two years after his death, Niemi said she was honored to unveil the statue. "It became clear to me that someone had put a lot of love into this, for a man I loved so very much," she said.
The look in the statue's eyes, she added, is vintage Swayze – capturing his "confident but mischievous look."
The pose, too, is appropriate. In it, Niemi says, her husband is saying, "Come and be fearless with me. Go out there on a limb. Just trust. Don't look down. Take a chance in whatever you do."
