Throngs of screaming fans, some of which carried offerings of toy kangaroos and Tim Tam chocolates, greeted Kardashian as she arrived at Kingsford-Smith Airport in Sydney alongside sister Khloé and brother-in-law Lamar Odom.
Donning skinny jeans, a white V-neck top, a black blazer and no wedding ring, Kardashian, 31, who filed for divorce from Kris Humphries, husband of 72 days, on Monday, was whisked into a black Range Rover heading to her Sydney hotel.
"It's beautiful. I love it here," Odom, who was videoing the mass of media and fans, told reporters. However, he remained silent when asked about his sister-in-law's well-being.
Kardashian had press commitments scheduled for the afternoon and was set to make her first official public appearance with her sister at the launch party of the Kardashian Kollection Australian handbag line in the evening at Hugo's Lounge in Sydney's Kings Cross.
Thursday morning, the sister duo will meet fans at department store David Jones in Sydney. Khloé is then scheduled to head home as Kim flies to Melbourne to take in the final day of the Melbourne Cup Carnival at Emirates Stakes Day as a guest of Swisse Vitamins in their marquee. (Celebrity guests usually attend the carnival as guests of major corporations who host them in their marquees.)
"I married for love," Kardashian recently wrote on her blog in defense of her short-lived marriage. "I would not have spent so much time on something just for a TV show."
