When singer Dia Frampton discovered just how much of a comical guy her coach Blake Shelton
was while competing
on premiere season of The Voice
, she wondered what kind of mate would offer him the perfect balance.
That is until she met his new wife
, Miranda Lambert
"She is just as sassy and in your face as he is," says Frampton, 23, who sang duets with both Lambert and Shelton on The Voice
. "When I met her she was talking about going pond fishing with him. They are so cute together."
But not only does Shelton keep Frampton in stitches, but he's also one heck of a cheerleader. After the St. George, Utah, native's first single "The Broken Ones" was released this week, Shelton, "Tweeted like seven times about it," she says. "I sent him a thank you text and plan to take him to Korean barbecue when he's free. He's so busy!"
Luckily the two have already banked some studio time. "We wrote a mid-tempo song called 'I Will' about good friendship," says Frampton, who also teamed with Foster the People and Florence + Machine producer Isabella Summers for her album debut, Red
, which is expected Dec. 6.
But don't look for a duet with Shelton – or for a country vibe at all. Frampton describes her album as sounding, "dance-y, upbeat, something you can turn on at the gym while you're running. It's fun."
