Nick Lachey: There's No 'Sense of Urgency' to Have Kids

Will the New Year mean a new baby for Nick Lachey and his wife Vanessa?

"I don't think there's necessarily any timetable for it," Nick told PEOPLE while at Tostitos' Party with a Purpose to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters.

"We're definitely excited about being parents at some point, but I think whenever that happens, we'll embrace it and be excited for it," says the singer, 38. "There's no real sense of urgency at this point."

While the couple has no immediate plans to start a family of their own, the newlyweds are excited to spend the holidays with Nick's clan in Cincinnati.

"It's our first Christmas as a married couple, so we're looking forward to that," Nick says.

During their trip, the Lacheys will be throwing an ugly sweater party to kick off the holiday celebrations.

"[Vanessa] went shopping for my sweater yesterday," says the The Sing Off host. "From what I've seen in pictures, it's pretty heinous."
