Mario Lopez popped the question to girlfriend Courtney Mazza during a Christmas holiday in Mexico with friends, family and TV crew on hand.
The moment will be shown Wednesday on Extra, which Lopez hosts, though a preview went up on the the show's website earlier in the day.
"I've come to the realization that I'm never going to meet another woman as special and amazing as the one I have, and I think she's finally succumb to my pressure and will take me," Lopez, 38, says for the TV camera, in anticipation of asking for Mazza's hand on the sandy beach of Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo. "So we'll see, I hope."
While he didn't have a speech prepared, Lopez did have a ring ready.
"The sun's almost setting," he says. "The family's there and [so are] my friends. We're good to go." He then crosses himself.
Chances are, Mazza – whose daughter with Lopez, Gia, was born in September 2010 – will say yes, though the entire scene will play out on the syndicated entertainment news show.
This would mark Lopez's second marriage. His first, to Ali Landry in 2004, was annulled after two weeks.
