Even a hospital stay for mild kidney failure isn't bringing down characteristically cheery Nick Cannon.
"As always, he's in good spirits considering the situation," his wife Mariah Carey, who accompanied him to the hospital in Aspen, tells PEOPLE exclusively.
Acknowledging, "the situation is not easy," Carey says Cannon is stable but "in a lot of pain."
"We are hopeful that he'll be 100 percent as soon as possible," she adds. "We really appreciate everybody's love and support."
Cannon Tweeted later Wednesday that he is "being transferred to a hospital in L.A. Thank you all for all your love, prayers and concern. You know me ... I will be a'ight."
